Turnkey-Projects

Knowledge about breweries and beverage producers
ES PROJECTS performs turnkey-projects:
Designing and realization of breweries and soft drink plants - Occupation as a project-manager or independent consultant.

A management team of technicians and buisinessmen puts the single work-steps together and leads them on. The interfaces will be bundled, summaries and clear structures will be done.

ES PROJECTS is a team of brewmasters, technicians and buisinessmen, who have gained practical excperiences in breweries or soft drink plants.
As an independent engineering consultancy, we offer objective analyses.

ES PROJECTS – as a consultant or turnkey-manager

Our team for your project
The team will be chosen according to the individual project and requirements. Depending on the complexity of the project we cooperate with partner companies. These so-called sub-contractors are experts; we have already cooperated succesfully with them in previous projects.  Our partners expand the team in the areas of programming, transportation and construction planning.

Our performance in turnkey-projekts

Pre-Project-Strategy – Technology
- Consulting
- Concept preparation
- Fundamental planning – size and capacities
- Raw material analysis
- Technological layout of the plant
- Forecast of investments and costs
- Consultation of technology with a possible licenser
- Tenders
Building planning and workmanship
- Data requirements for the architect
- Planning by the architect
- Construction and design layouts
- Execution of the construction
Turnkey project-management
- Realization of the project and supervision of the construction
- Engineering
- Assembly
Start of operations and training
- Start of operations of the plant
- Training of the staff members
- Handing-over of the plant
- After sales service

Technological variety
Each individual process has different possibilities – lauter tun or mash filter, candle filter or kieselguhr-free filtration, short-term heating or tunnel pasteuriser etc.. These decisions will influence the total process and have to be clarified in advance.

New, second-hand or patchwork

New plants

The construction of a new plant allows all possibilities:

New or second-hand plant, machinery of one manufacturer or of diverse manufacturers. We’ll help to take the right decision, attending you throughout the project or perform it independently.

Second-hand plants
Compared with new plants you can save more than 50’% of the purchase;  money, which for instance can be used for marketing activities to launch the brand.
The prices are depending on the condition and the availability of the equipment much variable

Example to compare the investment level old-/new-plant:

Object: Brewery with a capacity of 200.000 hlpa
New
second-hand
Investment cost 15 M€ 3…7 M€
Kapitalbelastung phl (bei 100,000 hlpa) 15 € 3…7 €

Some advantages and disadvantages of second-hand-plants:

Second-hand-plants:
Advantages:

- lower initial investment
- lower capital risk (ROI)

Disadvantages:

- bank–financed projects: matter of collateral
- technical residual risk (warranty)
- availability of plants

Ultimately the decision « new or second-hand » is a strategic one. We’ll discuss all advantages and disadvantages of both versions with you and will conduct the first precalculations.

Patchwork Plants
A patchwork plant consists of different components. Like a combination of new and second-hand machinery but also a special made to measure of various second-hand brewing-machineries.

You want to construct a second-hand production plant, the total take-over (disassembly and assembly) of a shut down production plant would be the most meaningful alternative. If the right plant should be not available or in case of special demands, a mix of machineries of various plants would be kept.

However it should be considered that older production plants have often evolved over a long period of time and consist of optimal and suboptimal components.

The patchwork plant, as an alternative, has many advantages, however this option is always more expensive against a unique solution.

Capacities and key data
Which size of a brewhouse is needed, to brew 200,000 hl beer a year….how much water and in which quality is needed? And how much steam does the boiler house have to produce an hour? How much are the costs of a hectoliter of beer – how much are the costs of raw material, the costs of energy and what is the total amount of the investment?
Under the menu item Engineering und Consulting you’ll find information for a first and quick survey.

Buildings
As soon as a rough concept of the production plant has been drawn up the architect should be consulted for the planning of the buildings. Which building concept is to be followed, which materials will be used?  The advice of an architect is also valuable in connection with technological questions as for example «Indoor- or Outdoor-tanks».
We cooperate with an architect’s office which has designed innovative building concepts for breweries.
